I already have a pool guy — is it worth switching?+
If yours skips visits, leaves no report, surprises you with bills, or you're never quite sure the water's safe — then yes, and there's no risk in finding out. Your first service is 50% off, no lock-in, cancel anytime, so trying us costs you nothing to compare. Every visit comes with a dated photo report as proof it was actually done, and if anything's not right, we're back the next day, free. Take our free 60-second quiz, or get in touch and we'll give you an honest, no-obligation read on where your pool stands. Most people are putting up with more than they realise.
How do I know you'll actually show up every week?+
You get the same dedicated technician on a fixed day, plus a photo and report after every visit — so there's always proof we were there and exactly what we did. No ghosting, no skipped weeks, no wondering.
What does the service actually include for the price?+
Every plan spells it out. The Essential covers a full clean (vacuum, brush, algae & debris), filter service, water testing and balancing (chemicals not bundled — we tell you exactly what's needed), an equipment inspection and a PDF report. No hidden extras, no mystery chemical surcharges. Chemicals are billed transparently at cost, no markup.
How do I cancel if I'm not happy?+
There are no lock-in contracts, ever. Pause or cancel any time. We'd rather earn your business every single visit than trap you in a contract.
Will you just dump chemicals and leave?+
Never. We test your water, dose precisely, physically clean and inspect the pool, then document it all. If it isn't balanced and swim-ready, we're back the next day at no charge.
Do I need to be home for the service?+
No. As long as we have side or gate access, you don't need to be there. Your photo-and-report after each visit means you always know it was done — without lifting a finger. If you're not home to pay on the day, we'll email you an invoice, due within 7 days.
Are you insured and qualified?+
Yes. Blue Avenue is fully insured and our technicians are trained and qualified. Your home, your equipment and your family's safety are in accountable hands.
Do you service my area consistently, or only when convenient?+
Yes — we cover the whole Gold Coast, from Coolangatta to Coomera, on set weekly routes. Wherever you are, you get the same day each week, not just a visit when we happen to be passing.
What happens if something goes wrong with my pool?+
We catch most issues early during routine inspections. If something needs attention, we tell you straight away with clear options and an upfront price — never a surprise invoice, never a repair you didn't approve.
I've been burnt before — why is Blue Avenue different?+
Three reasons: proof (a photo and report every visit), accountability (no lock-in, fully insured, same tech each week), and our next-day guarantee. We built Blue Avenue specifically to fix everything you've been burnt by.
Can I add a safety compliance certificate, glass fence cleaning or pressure washing to a standard service?+
Yes — Glass Fence Sparkling Clean (from $199), Pressure Washing (from $349) and a QLD Safety Compliance Inspection (from $220) are all available as add-ons. Add any of them to The Essential or Perfect Balance, or book alongside a one-off service, each priced separately.
How often should a pool actually be cleaned on the Gold Coast?+
Monthly is the standard for most Gold Coast pools — the majority run on a salt chlorinator, which produces chlorine continuously to keep the water sanitised, so a once-a-month service is enough to keep a typical, lightly-used home pool balanced. Fortnightly is worth stepping up to if your pool gets heavy use, sits under trees, or you're heading into a hot, wet stretch — the extra visit stops algae and debris getting ahead of your equipment. Our
Essential plan covers weekly, fortnightly and monthly.
Why does my pool keep turning green, and how do I fix it?+
Green water almost always means algae has taken hold from low chlorine, poor circulation, or a pump and filter that isn't keeping up — heat and rain speed it up fast on the Gold Coast. A proper fix means shocking the water, brushing every surface to stop regrowth, and running the filter continuously until it clears — not just tipping in chlorine and hoping. If yours has already turned, our
Green Pool Rescue service brings it back to swim-ready, guaranteed.
How much does pool cleaning cost on the Gold Coast?+
Most Gold Coast homeowners pay roughly $50–$100 per visit for professional weekly servicing, depending on pool size, equipment and how neglected it's been. Our plans are transparent from the start — no hidden chemical surcharges or surprise line items. Compare our
Perfect Balance and The Essential plans to see exactly what's included in each.
How long should I run my pool pump each day?+
Run your pump long enough to turn over your entire pool volume once a day — for most home pools that's 6–8 hours in summer and 4–6 in winter, split across a couple of cycles if you're on time-of-use power. Running it less lets algae and bacteria get ahead of your filtration; running it non-stop just burns power. We check and set pump run-times as part of every scheduled visit.
Do I need a pool safety certificate in Queensland?+
Yes — almost every Queensland pool with more than 300mm of water needs to be registered and hold a current pool safety certificate, renewed every 1–2 years depending on the property type. Councils do issue on-the-spot fines for non-compliant barriers, and a faulty gate latch is the single most common fail point. Our
QLD Safety Compliance Inspection checks your barrier against the current standard and gets you a certificate in writing.
What's the difference between a chlorine pool and a saltwater pool?+
A saltwater pool still uses chlorine — a
chlorinator converts dissolved salt into chlorine automatically, so you handle less chemical and get gentler, more consistent water. A traditional chlorine pool needs manual dosing and tends to swing more between too little and too much. Most Gold Coast homeowners switching to saltwater do it for lower long-term maintenance, not upfront cost.
How do I get rid of pool algae for good, not just for a week?+
One-off algae kills rarely last because the root cause — low chlorine, poor circulation, or a struggling filter — never actually gets fixed. The proper fix is a shock dose of chlorine and algaecide, with a phosphate remover added if regrowth keeps coming back, to strip out what's feeding it. Long-term prevention means keeping chemical balance in check as often as possible through consistent, scheduled servicing, a filter that's actually cleaned (not just backwashed), and brushing to stop algae getting a foothold on textured surfaces. That ongoing consistency is exactly what a
scheduled service plan is designed to guarantee.
Why is my pool cloudy even though I just cleaned it?+
Cloudy water after a clean usually points to a chemical imbalance (especially pH or alkalinity), a filter that needs a proper clean rather than a quick rinse, or fine debris too small for your filter to catch. Rain is a common trigger on the Gold Coast, since it dilutes chemical levels overnight. If it's happening repeatedly, it's worth having someone actually test and diagnose it rather than keep dumping in clarifier.
Who looks after my pool while I'm away or between Airbnb guests?+
An untouched pool over a week or two of Gold Coast heat can turn green fast, and a bad pool photo is one of the quickest ways to lose a holiday booking or a five-star review. We run flexible, on-demand servicing timed around check-ins and check-outs so the pool is always guest-ready, with a photo report you can forward straight to property managers. See our
Airbnb & Vacation Care service for details.
Why has my pool pump stopped working, or gotten really loud?+
A pump that's suddenly noisy, weak, or not running at all is usually a worn bearing, a clogged impeller, or a failing capacitor — all fixable, but worth attending to quickly since a struggling pump means poor circulation and a faster slide toward algae. We diagnose and repair or replace
pumps, filters and chlorinators as part of our equipment service, so you're not stuck sourcing a technician mid-crisis.
